Seeing how I work for the government I got to work on the 24th of July. After work I ran home to gather the family and head out to the in laws. Out there we made pizza and home made ice cream. YUMMY!! Then Trev and I left the kids at Grandma and Grandpa's for a sleepover. Although I had to miss out on the fun field parade festivities, I did have a fun evening with my in laws.
After picking the kids up the next morning, we decided on the spur of the moment to gather my family and go up the mountain to the cabin. It was such a fun day. I love being up the mountain!! I want my kids to have some of the same experience's I enjoyed as I kid, like being at the cabin running through the meadow. Since my dad helped his grandpa with some of the building of our family cabin it holds a special place in our hearts, as it was a special place in my dad's family.
Also on that Saturday it was my grandpa's birthday. He would have been 88. HAPPY BIRTHDAY GRANDPA! It has been 9 years since you passed away and I miss you and everything about you. I often feel your sweet spirit by my side. I wish I could hug you and hear the way you could whistle when you talked, when you would do Jack and the beanstock, and all the whitty things you would say. I love you Grandpa!! Till we meet again!!

My grandparents are really cute. It makes me sad because I can't remember my grampy. Just that I would go sit with him while grandma was gone so he wouldn't steal any treats. :) I sure can't wait to see him again! And, I can remember the whistle. Pacifically at dinner's in the prayer!
Ah Mindy, your picture by the cabin got me all watery eyed, then your tribute to Dad got the eyes flowing. Shit, I miss him too!
Hang in there dear girl, I love you!
